Final Visit to Loutet Farm
Today we harvested some lettuce, spinach, radishes, and beans to build a salad which tasted soooo YUMMY!
All students are invited to stop by over the Summer to see how their beans are growing and of course, to purchase some fresh vegetables from some pretty great farmers :-)

Mahon Park Fieldtrip tomorrow
The forecast tomorrow is for 17 degrees, cloud and some chance of light rain. Under these conditions, we will most certainly still go to the water park. It would be great, if those children planning to go into the water wear their swimsuits underneath their clothes in the morning if comfortable. If the weather permits, we will be able to dry off and wear them home as well. If not, there are change rooms at Mahon. Please send your child with their booster seat, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, and their regular snack/lunch.
If we do feel the need to cancel, I will call the parent volunteers ASAP. We will likely not reschedule any trip that requires us to get volunteer drivers, however, we (Div. 13) will take a walking trip somewhere fun, close-by if weather permits before the end of school.
Thanks!

Great Summer Website
WOW! I can hardly believe it is Summer tomorrow and only a few more school days left. Thinking ahead, for those rainy Summer days, there is a great website that will help your child practice letter sounds and reading skills - www.starfall.com
With headphones plugged in, I like to call it, "peace-and-quiet.com." :-)

Hamlet
Mr. Clark's class is currently acting out Hamlet for a captive audience. Amazing production! What a treat.
Father's Day Gift
On Friday, children will be making and bringing home their father's day gift and card. If your child will be away on Friday this week, please let me know ASAP so that I can send the card home on Thursday (several of you have already done this). Given that the gift is being made on Friday, no gift will be coming home if they do not attend. In other words, you're on your own, Mom's!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Health Curriculum
Just a head's up that for the next 3 weeks we will be working through a kit called, Let's Talk About Touching as part of the Health Curriculum.
We will be learning to use "scientific" names for body parts, both male and female; the difference between appropriate touching and inappropriate touching; how to assert ourselves if touched in a way we do not like; hygiene; keeping our bodies safe; and people we can turn to for help.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Mahon Park
Friday June 21st is our year end field trip. This year, all the Kindergarten classes are going to Mahon Park together for the afternoon. Mahon has a great water park. In addition to the waterworks, the students will have other activity options brought from the school to play with. Parents are encouraged to come and celebrate the year with us at the park!
Children need to bring a lunch/bathing suit/towel/sunscreen/hat/& water. We will be traveling with parent drivers. There is a permission form coming home shortly with more details and a request for parent drivers.
